Our Delica Car

In 2010 we bought a secondhand Mitsubishi Delica. The reason we chose this car is very simple. We wanted a 4wd car that could be converted into a little campervan but still gave us the option to carry more then two passengers (which is very handy if we have guest from overseas).
We anticipated to have all the time of the world to transform our car into the comfortable and practical campervan we had in mind.
Then out of the blue we got the opportunity (trough Sander's work) to live in Brisbane for a few months. Excited to see more of Australia, we decided to take our car so we would be able to go camping in the weekends.
That meant we just had two weeks to pimp the car! It was a bit hectic, but we managed to get the car ready. This is the result....

As you can see the bed is retractable. Our back seat can turn and by flattening it the bed can slide over it. The result has worked very well for us so far. Nevertheless we will change a few things for our big trip. We'll keep you updated on that!
Just an interesting note: Monique did most of the work on the car ;)

  2. What a great idea of transforming a vehicle for camping. It must have been great selecting the car you wanted and think how you can revamp it. I bet it’s a shocker when you found out you only had two weeks to get it changed. Still, you got it done and enjoyed a great couple of months!
