We really wanted to stay another night at Cape Leveque but
the weather forecast didn’t look promising. Sander went to the reception and
the lady at the desk was very helpful telling us rain was very likely to fall.
As the road conditions can very quickly change after rain we didn’t want to
risk getting stuck on the dirt track the next day.
Not that it would have been
that much of a disaster to be stuck in paradise, but hey, we were running out
of food and drinks and life was expensive on the cape.
So we agreed on packing up and leaving this beautiful place.
It felt kind of sad, knowing we wouldn’t be back at this place for years to
come, if ever. But also we felt so happy discovering this place. We had such an
amazing and relaxing time here. Definitely a highlight of our trip.
We drove the long and dusty road back to Broome just taking
one minor detour to Beagle Bay. Apparently the little, historic church here was
well worth seeing. And indeed it was. The whole inside interior was decorated
with shells. It looked so amazing and unique! Glad we went to see it
Back at Broome we got the tyres rotated which only took half
an hour and after grocery shopping we found ourselves back at Cable Beach
Caravan Park where we went for a refreshing swim in the pool.
Have I mentioned before that we are in bed before 10 pm
nowadays?!
