We weren't in a hurry the next morning and enjoyed our morning
at the dam. We walked around for a bit before we decided to move on to our next
destination, Cloncurry.
There wasn't much to do in Cloncurry but we spent quite a
bit of time at the Visitors Center where they had a great video about the town,
its inhabitant’s and its history. Afterwards we walked around the historical
relics in the park and had lunch.
We did a bit of grocery shopping before we took the Burke
developmental Road towards Normanton. Once again we found ourselves on a long
and boring road with a whole lot of nothing. The campsite we had set our mind
on was a long drive away and when we finally made it there it turned out to be not at all what we expected. It was that bad that Monique
didn't feel comfortable staying here so we decided to drive on although
it was getting dark already. In the end we found a rest area just a couple of kilometers up the road which wasn't great, but not too bad either. It was then that we discovered we
had an almost flat tire… Oh no!
