We drove back to Albany this morning and did a bit more of
sightseeing.
We first drove up Mount Clarence to see the National Anzac Memorial
Park. The park has a lot of war relics, such as gun turrets and torpedos, from
the time Albany had to be protected against overseas enemies. Being on a hill, the
views over Albany, its surrounding beaches and natural harbour were really
beautiful.
From there we drove to Middleton which is famous for its
beach. As it was too windy to fully enjoy it we moved on to a picnic place just
outside of Albany where we enjoyed a bit of lunch.
We had heard a lot of positive things about Two Peoples Bay
so we took the detour to check it out. At first we didn’t know what to think
but when we drove on to Little Beach we saw why others loved it so much. This
beach must be one of the prettiest we have come across so far. Most definitely
it had the whitest sand and the most clear blue water we have ever seen.
Stunning!
We didn’t feel like walking after all the exercise we had
the last couple of days so we decided to go and find a campsite. The one we had
seen on the map was only about 5 km away (as the crow flies) from Two Peoples
Bay. Unfortunately we could only get there by driving a 40 km detour.
That night we camped at Norman’s Beach. It was right next to
an inlet and about a 400 meter walk to the beach. After dinner we had a nice
walk along the beach and watched the sunset.
