After a refreshing shower we continued our trip up north. At
some point we took a turn towards Dundas Rocks but these turned out to be just
some big rocks shattered around in the area, nothing special.
We moved on to Norseman. We did some grocery shopping and
visited the local mining department to find out where it is allowed to prospect,
as Sander really wanted to have a try with his new metal detector. Officially
you can’t just get out there and start digging. The people at the office
weren’t very helpful unfortunately so we decided to leave it for now.
Had we been freezing cold at windy Lucky Bay two days ago,
today it was stinking hot here in the outback. From Norseman we drove to
Kambalda where we didn’t really find a nice campspot. Therefore we ended up in
Kalgoorlie Boulder that evening where we checked in at Prospector Caravan Park
in Kalgoorlie West. It was very quiet on the campsite but they had a lovely
camp kitchen with tv and there was a pool as well which was very welcome with
these temperatures.
